Seven Cards Using My Stampin'Up! Scraps

I have seven great cards to share with you today using items from my scrap box. WOOHOO!! One of my favorite things to do when I get to sit down and craft for myself is to make cards and tags from my scraps. This is something everyone can do! My box was about 1/2 full today so it wasn't too overwhelming. I dump everything on the table, then sort it out into different piles: DSP, ribbon, stamped images, stamped sentiments, blank die cut labels, die cut shapes or stamped images and card stock pieces. Then I take a glance at it all and cut some card bases and white mats that would go with a variety of the pieces.

At this point, I just start with one card at a time. I choose a stamped or die cut image, then some coordinating card stock or DSP, then a sentiment. If there isn't one to go with it, I have a couple all purpose stamp sets on hand. I'll use the ribbon and any embellishments too that are in the box. Left over kit pieces, Paper Pumpkin pieces and class left overs all go in the box.

The first card is my favorite, mostly because I love coffee and the retro look of this stamp set. The card base is Cinnamon Cider and I used Cinnamon Cider and Memento inks. This card is made with the Nothing's Better Than Bundle #154061. The card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", the Early Espresso card stock is 3-/12" x 4-3/4" and the Whisper White card stock is 3-1/4" x 4-1/2".

This next card uses the Blossoms In Bloom Bundle #154123. The card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", the Marvelous Magenta card stock is 4-1/8" x 5-3/8". I used Basic Black and Vellum die cut pieces with a left over tag from a kit and a double bow of the awesome Glittered Organdy Ribbon. The sentiment is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set #149471 in Memento ink.

This card also uses the Many Layered Blossoms dies from the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle #154123. I had die cut these and sponged with Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. I learned that sponging after die cutting is a little tough because it had torn in a couple places, but once you glue it down, you can't see it at all. The Garden Green card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2. The Whisper White card stock is 5-1/4" x 4". I used a piece of scrap Old Olive Ribbon and a left over small Stitched Nested Label die. There seems to be a piece of glitter stuck to it, but it's off now ;). The sequins were also left over from a kit. "Hello" was stamped in Calypso Coral from the new Best Year stamp set #152568.

I had made some swap cards using the great Whiskey Business stamp set #152550. I LOVE THIS SET!! I had stamped and cut out a couple extra of the bottle, glass and orange rind pieces. So this was a super quick card to put together. The Basic Black card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2. The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper is 2" x 5-1/4". The Gold Foil strip is 5-1/4" x 1/4". The Watercolor Paper is 2-3/4" x 4". I used scrap Watercolor Paper for the other stamped images and a scrap of Bumblebee card stock to "Old-Fashioned". Since these images were water colored, I used StazOn ink for stamping. Inks used for coloring were Balmy Blue and Bumblebee.

This next card used a left over mat from workshops in June. I inked an spritzed a block with Soft Seafoam ink and stamped in the middle of a piece of Whisper White card stock. I used a Just Jade die cut leaf from the Forever Ferns Bundle #154094 and some other scraps of vellum from my box. I used a left over bow from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon pack #153620 and colored it with a dark Soft Seafoam Blend marker. The sentiment is from the Best Year stamp set #152568. The Just Jade card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2. The Whisper White is 5" x 3-3/4". The sentiment is stamped in Just Jade ink.

I was designing a project and made the focal point of this card. I loved it, but it just didn't work with the project so I saved it for later. This would make a great graduation card or a fun July 4th card. The Night of Navy card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". The Whisper White layer is 3-3/4" x 5". The Real Red layer is 3" x 4-1/2". The focal point is a piece of Whisper White that is 3-7/8" x 2-1/2", with a piece of Night of Navy 3-7/8" x 1" on the bottom and a strip of 1/2" x 3-7/8" Real Red card stock across the center. I used the Playful Alphabet Dies #152706 to cut the White and Red letters on Foam Adhesive so they pop up. The red glittery stars were left over pieces.

This final card was made using some left over pieces of the retired Sail Away and Clubhouse Designer Series Paper. The 2 chairs were left over using the retired Seasonal Layers Dies. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink with the A Good Man stamp set. The Night of Navy card base is 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". The Whisper White is 3-1/4" x 4-1/2". The plaid DSP is 3-3/4" x 1-3/4" and the striped DSP is 3-3/4" x 1-1/4". The chairs are Whisper White and Sahara Sand and the sentiment strip is 1/2" x 2-1/2.

Here's a video on putting them all together:
