Adios Stylish Stems...
April and May are hard months for die hard stampers. The Annual and Occasions catalogs are retiring, along with some of favorite stamp sets and dies. I would encourage anyone who really likes a set, to always get it early. Once the retiring list comes out, those items start selling out quickly. I also recommend that you always buy the ink refill when you buy a stamp pad. Those are always the first to go. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel - YES THERE IS!!! I've seen the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and it is absolutely FABULOUS! The new In Colors are gorgeous (my new favorites are Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst) and I can't wait to start a new video series called, "How'd they make that?". I'll be making samples from the catalog to show the steps and supplies they used.
One of my favorite bundles from the Occasions Catalog was the Special Reason Bundle. The dies and bundles are now sold out, but the stamp set is still available. I'm going to show a few samples made with this bundle because you can always substitute other dies or images for the ones I show here.
We made this first card in a couple of classes last month. The flower was die cut from the Whisper White card stock and I added some extra Crushed Curry ink on the Daffodil Delight card stock underneath with a sponge. The words are from the Sending Thoughts stamp set (which is still available but retiring soon).
I made this next card for a swap with my team. I love using Basic Gray and Blushing Bride together. I REALLY love the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper which is retiring and on sale for $3.00 a pack - sad face.
My final sample today is from Crew Stamper JoAnn Graham. JoAnn made this for our team swap and I love the great layering. If you look closely, you can see that she's stamped, embossed and sponged the flower, then added the die-cut outline on top. Love the color scheme of Night of Navy and Calypso Coral. Thanks JoAnn!
